Kicillof supported federal government measures on meat exports

The governor of the Argentine province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, met with beef producers on Wednesday after the measures announced by the federal government concerning the lifting of caps on exports, starting with the resumption of shipments to China.

Kicillof, who would be the choice of former president and current vice president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner as head of state in 2023, told business leaders that the new “policies are aimed at protecting both producers and consumers? while asking for help to avoid “a rise in domestic meat prices.” ??

?? The goal of this area of work should be to create the conditions that allow us to produce more so that, once supplied to the local market, we have a greater exportable balance of meat, ?? Kicillof added.

The former Minister of the Economy under CFK also underlined “the articulation between the Government and the sector, which allows concrete results for the whole of society”.

He also underlined “the importance that the dialogue maintained with the sector is expressed in concrete public policies which take into account both the price paid by consumers and exports”.

Kicillof also explained that “the goal is to find a balance so that production and exports increase without the inhabitants of Buenos Aires ceasing to consume the meat they need”. and committed to deepen policies that increase meat production and exports, keeping consumer prices at reasonable values.

During the meeting at the Government House of Buenos Aires, in La Plata, Kicillof was surrounded by the provincial ministers of Agrarian Development, Javier Rodríguez, and of Production, Science and Technological Innovation, Augusto Costa.

Minister Rodríguez stressed that there was “a coincidence in the objectives, since the main challenge we have to face is the increase in meat production, ?? he said.
